Being really reflective...

hey guys..thanks for reading my blog..appreciated

like it everytime i come in I see comments left for me..keke at least i know i am not writing to cyber space..haha

so many things..where should i start..urm...

ok..start from graveyard shift..
My first real graveyard shift started on Friday..did reg cards and reports with Norain, cool trainer..very detailed i like..and she's one of those "chop-chop" group of people which i lagi like...after reading my holy manual "THE EXTENSIVE GUIDE FOR MIDNIGHTERS"..i went ahead with my virgin G shift yesterday (sat) night...made a big mess out of the reg cards...silly move..haha but you know when they always say take it as a lesson...ya, whenever you do something, it's best you do it wrong, then you'll forever rememeber the right way of doing it...agree?? so that's why people always say dun be afraid to make mistakes...the reason behind it is that you learn better and the information, procedure or whatever you call in will be locked in your head..

so now I am familiar with reg cards..yesterday I went to work at 9pm hoping to finish the reg cards as fast as i could but ended up I only finished it at around 3 am..haha...technically the sorting out and everything else has to be done..so my new target for today, as in tonight wuold be to finish it by breifing time...at least I am more familiar with the procedure after my expensive lesson yesterday...all i pray is that the printer dun "HAI WO"...

another thing i wan to say about G shift is that the preparation work is easy but there's a lot..quantity wise...we are like preparing a day's work to start with...for the WHOLE hotel..i repeat WHOLE HOTEL...everybody...really the FO is like TP's one -stop service centre, no matter in which aspects...be it miscelleanous work, and facing the guest..we do everything...

so we are like the conductors of the orchestra..the conductor point to the right instruments at the right time to make the piece of music soun good..co-ordinated..remind me of Zhang shen when i was in the orchestra..you basically have to know every instrument, the behaviour, the method of playing, the fundementals of notes, the skill...before you can be one good conductor...so yea, the FO have to know what's happening in the other department then we can play this concert piece well..

dun you agree?? we prepare work for tmr's colleagues on E shift, and we do reports for the GM, AM, FOM, REV, RESV..etc..and we need to be able to answer queries from guest in the middle of the night, the weirdest ones...to be well-informed basically...boils down to...*everyone, let's say it together...* COMMUNICATION!
yea you've said it..that's right!

well...i wish communication would just be like looking at the conductor and knowing exactly what to do...butit's not easy like that...

but if you ask me whcih i prefer, definitely the G shift..even though you must sacrifice you sleep..haha..because contact with guess is minimal..you can't imagine how nasty these people can be..*irritating*...so i rather service my internal people and make their work day smooth by doing a good background job for them..

well, i dun exactly hate the guest there, i only like guests from certain days...and certain countries..like everyone may have guessed, americans,..yea..technically they are the nicest among the evil ones...like mama's, chinese *taiwan and china*, saudi arabians, SINGAPOREANS...yea..irritating ones...

but I have to be professional, since I am in this line..to treat basically all of them the same nice way..but be treated diffirently in return..and i have to please them...sounds bad huh..but i guess if i were the guest i'd want the crew in the hotel to treat me nice, why?? because I AM PAYING FOR IT!!!!!!! ..

yea..so it's technically a job...that's why they say you have to lurve your job or it's difficult to move on..
well, i lurve it..really! even with the scoldings and everything, cos you see how extreme people can be, super nice or super like to dispute this dispute that...also, not to forget, the handsome and beautiful, the celebs, and etc etc...meet different people...
keeps your job more alive actually...rather than the computer, figures and the same people all the time...

hmm.. that's my job...well, weird hour, low pay and i am still lurving it???hahaha
somebody call hougang...
